Trivandrum, India

Went to Trivandrum, India 2 weeks ago for work. Had a chance to explore the city. Trivandrum is the capital city of Kerala. Kerala is known by their people as "God's Own Land". They are also well known for their Ayurverdic centres.

I stayed at Taj Residency. It's a business hotel and was really nice. Their employees were really good and friendly.

A little side note, when I left the room for cleaning, I nicely kept my undergarment on the armchair near the standing light in the corner. Their chamber maids actually took it and folded it nicely on my bed. I was super embarassed! Well, I guess its the service they provide.

Huge bed all for myself.

Great work area which I never use!

Flat screen TV with 400 over channels!

Can still pose after the over night flight. It was like 2am sg time!

Day 2

Trying to get a good shot of myself before I leave for the meal presentation.

I super love this car. Apparently this is the car they use for their government official.

This is an old building used hundreds of years ago! This is in the premises of the caterer. The plan is to refurbish the inner part to of the building and make it into a restaurant. I so dig refurbished monumental building. It's especially gotta be tastefully done, of course! I will come back and visit them once they complete this place.

And, this is the best part of the trip. We went to The Leela. It is a beautiful resort facing the Arabian Sea.

At the restaurant patio.

Overlooking the romatic bar area.

Sunbathing by the pool overlooking the sea.

Sunset. Too bad it was a cloudy day.

Look at how the coconut tree was blown . You can imagine the wind!

Private part of the beach

Enjoying the beautiful breeze.

At the bar posing.

The distance to Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Maldives.

Sun almost setting. Beautiful.

Keralan Cuisine at The Leela.

The dessert spread. Mixture of western and local delights.

Extravagant lobby at The Leela. Look at those cushions! A must for my own place.

Day 3.

Breakfast of Thosai back at the hotel I was put up at, Taj Residency.

Supreme Bakery, the place to get local treats like cashews, muruku, ghee cakes etc. Bought a whole basket full of stuff.

We had Lunch at The Muthoot Plaza. Again, all the beautiful local delicacy.

Yes, desserts galore.

We went to FabIndia. They are well known for nice cushion covers, quilts, linen etc. I so love.

Of course the trip will not be complete if I never get anything from them. Want to know what I got? Surprise, Surprise. Will use for Eid this year. All I can reveal is that it matches my room.

Last shot before I check out.

Thosai for dinner.

Also the Channa Bathura.

Last pose with the car at the airport before I depart. Notice the car registration no? 8055 or BOSS. You decide.

Unlike my other experiences on duty travel alone, I guess going to TRV was one of the best one! I love the food and The Leela. This place is very unforgettable and beautiful. I have preselected this place as one of our honeymoon destination, along with Kochi, also in India.

India? you may ask. We want a romantic resort area where we can spend more time together, just us. And it seems this place meets our criteria. I will continue to explore suitable places for my honeymoon and select the best.
